Role Overview
The Transport Manager at Matsbond will be responsible for managing and coordinating the transportation operations to ensure timely, safe, and cost-effective movement of materials and equipment. This role plays a vital part in supporting project timelines by overseeing vehicle fleets, transport personnel, and logistics schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily transport operations across various projects.
- Manage vehicle fleet maintenance, scheduling, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Coordinate with warehouse, supply chain, and project teams to align transport activities.
- Monitor transport costs and optimize routes to improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international transport laws and regulations.
- Supervise transport staff, including drivers and logistics coordinators.
- Implement safety programs and conduct regular training sessions for transport personnel.
- Maintain accurate transport records and prepare reports for management review.
- Address and resolve transport-related issues and emergencies promptly.
- Collaborate with external transport providers and negotiate service contracts.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Business, or related field.
- At least 5 years’ experience in transport or fleet management, preferably in industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with transport management software and MS Office.
- Effective leadership and communication abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
