Role Overview
The Production Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining production equipment and systems in oil and gas facilities to ensure optimal output, safety, and efficiency. This role involves daily monitoring, troubleshooting, and performing preventive maintenance while adhering to industry regulations and company standards. Working closely with engineers and supervisors, the Production Technician contributes directly to achieving production targets and minimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production equipment and control systems.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
- Maintain accurate production and maintenance records.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
- Assist in startup, shutdown, and changeover procedures.
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams on repairs.
- Report any hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow all company policies and operational guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or technical certification in Petroleum Technology, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field.
- 2+ years’ experience in oil and gas production operations.
- Knowledge of production processes, equipment, and safety standards.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in using monitoring and control systems.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
