Role Overview
The Mechanical Technician will maintain, repair, and overhaul mechanical equipment used in oil and gas production facilities. This role ensures equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety standards. The technician will be expected to troubleshoot mechanical faults, replace defective parts, and collaborate with engineers on preventive maintenance strategies to extend equipment life and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair pumps, compressors, valves, and rotating equipment.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and propose solutions.
- Replace worn or damaged parts to restore functionality.
- Ensure mechanical systems meet safety and performance standards.
- Document all maintenance work performed.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams on maintenance plans.
- Assist with installation and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Follow safety protocols and industry regulations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in oil & gas mechanical maintenance.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components.
- Proficiency with tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Commitment to safety and compliance standards.
- Good teamwork and communication abilities.
- Ability to work in remote or offshore environments.
