Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Marine Safety Officer to oversee and enforce safety protocols on offshore and marine operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. You will lead safety initiatives, conduct risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety among all marine personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and enforce marine safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits offshore.
- Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Provide safety training and awareness programs for marine teams.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Prepare and maintain safety reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with project and operations teams to identify and mitigate risks.
- Promote continuous safety improvement and best practices.
- Coordinate emergency response drills and readiness activities.
- Ensure all marine activities comply with environmental and safety legislation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Marine Studies, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in marine safety or offshore safety roles.
- Strong knowledge of marine safety regulations and standards.
- Experience in risk assessment and incident investigation.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence safety culture at all organizational levels.
- Certification in marine safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is an advantage.
