Role Overview
The Marine Deckhand supports the deck crew by performing general maintenance, assisting with cargo operations, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the vessel’s deck areas. This entry-level position is vital for the smooth operation of marine vessel activities and provides a foundation for a career in marine operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in mooring and unmooring operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of deck areas.
- Support cargo handling and stowage activities.
- Perform routine maintenance and painting tasks.
- Operate deck equipment under supervision.
- Follow safety protocols and report hazards.
- Assist with inventory and storage of deck supplies.
- Participate in safety drills and training.
- Support deck crew in daily operations.
- Maintain communication with supervisors and team members.
Qualifications & Experience
- Basic maritime safety training (such as STCW Basic Safety).
- Previous experience in marine or related fields is an advantage.
- Physically fit and able to work in challenging offshore conditions.
