Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to oversee the design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems for complex engineering projects. This role will involve providing technical leadership, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions. The successful candidate will take ownership of mechanical engineering deliverables, manage design reviews, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring safety, reliability, and operational efficiency in all mechanical systems deployed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and analysis of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Oversee preparation and review of technical drawings and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with applicable mechanical codes and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to align project goals.
- Conduct feasibility studies and provide recommendations for system improvements.
- Review vendor submissions and approve mechanical components.
- Supervise mechanical engineering activities during project execution.
- Support procurement with technical evaluations and clarifications.
- Manage risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for mechanical systems.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in mechanical engineering within industrial or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in mechanical design software and analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical codes and standards.
- Proven leadership and team coordination skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional engineering registration is an advantage.
