Role Overview
The Junior Marine Engineer assists in the operation, maintenance, and repair of marine engines and associated equipment on board vessels. This position offers valuable hands-on experience and the opportunity to develop technical expertise in marine engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily operation and maintenance of marine engines.
- Conduct routine inspections and report defects or malfunctions.
- Support repairs and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Maintain engine room cleanliness and safety.
- Monitor engine performance and report any irregularities.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and deck crew.
- Follow safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Record maintenance activities and engine logs.
- Participate in training and development activities.
- Assist with inventory management of spare parts and tools.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or certification in Marine Engineering or related discipline.
- Some practical experience or internships in marine engineering preferred.
- Basic knowledge of marine engines and mechanical systems.
- Good problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work in a team and follow instructions.
- Physically fit for offshore work conditions.
