Role Overview
The Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, calibrating, and repairing instrumentation and control systems used in oil and gas production. This role is critical for ensuring accurate measurement, monitoring, and control of operational processes to achieve efficiency, safety, and compliance. The technician will work closely with engineering teams and operations personnel to troubleshoot faults and optimize system performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and configure instrumentation equipment and systems.
- Calibrate sensors, gauges, transmitters, and control devices.
- Perform preventive maintenance on instrumentation assets.
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed maintenance and calibration records.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on control system upgrades.
- Support commissioning of new systems and equipment.
- Assist in developing maintenance procedures and schedules.
- Respond promptly to instrumentation-related breakdowns.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or certification in Instrumentation, Electronics, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in oil & gas instrumentation maintenance.
- Proficiency with calibration tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong understanding of instrumentation systems and controls.
- Good troubleshooting and technical skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in field and offshore environments.
