Role Overview
The Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Specialist will ensure the implementation and monitoring of safety programs, compliance with environmental regulations, and the promotion of a safety-first culture across oil and gas operations. This role works closely with management, supervisors, and field personnel to identify hazards, conduct training, and implement preventive measures to safeguard employees, assets, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures.
- Conduct safety inspections and environmental audits.
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Deliver HSE training and awareness programs.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
- Maintain accurate HSE records and reports.
- Promote a proactive safety culture within the workforce.
- Support emergency response planning and drills.
- Advise management on HSE performance and improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ HSE experience in oil & gas operations.
- Knowledge of industry safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to conduct thorough investigations and write reports.
- Commitment to continuous safety improvement.
- Certification in NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
